THE BIG BANG
Youngest nun in Italy

Worldwide Shock
Mar 19, 2014
Sister Cristina has won the Cristian music contest "Good News Festival" June 24, 2013. The people of "The voice Italy" watched the video in YouTube and contacted the Sister's superiors to invite the nun to do an audition. At the congregation they were afraid because she was the youngest nun in Italy, but finally they accepted the call of God to go out of the convent, as Pope Francis recommended many times.

Thanks to her appearance on the Italian TV version of "The Voice", Suor Cristina Scuccia, a Roman Catholic nun has become an international singing sensation. A singing show with mediocre ratings in Italy has become a TV worldwide phenomenon. According to The New York Times, the Milan-based singing nun who has worked with the poor in Brazil, notes that Vatican observers in Italy credit her success to the new tone in Catholicism established by Pope Francis.

A tall man with tattoos shedding tears!

“I have a gift and I’m giving it to you,” she told judges and her audience. “Pope Francis call for the church to get out onto the streets and evangelize”.

Raffaella Carrà asked: What do you think the Vatican is saying about you appearing on The Voice?

The answer was loud and clear:

The Voice of Italy’s biography of Sister Scuccia says that she had always wanted to become a singer, that it was her “childhood dream.” As of 2008, Sister Cristina Scuccia was a “non-believer, and against the Church.”

Cristina Scuccia, seemingly by chance, found herself in a music hall which the Sisters of the Ursuline Holy Order had organized. While in attendance there, Cristina felt moved by the Spirit of God, and that led to her decision to become a nun.
